AVFD Members Complete State of TN Fire Courses.
Your Fire Department has had a very successful year again this year with members complete the state mandated classes to come fire fighters. Then we also had 2 members who continued complete additional courses to reach the Firefighter Level II.
In the photo below are the three newest Andersonville Firefighters to complete the State Mandated 64 hour Basic Firefighting Course through the State Fire Academy. This course covers all basic aspects of firefighting from response to alarms, hose, fire streams and hoses, to fire attack and ventilation. In the photo below are Daniel Miller and Bobby Green. They recently passed the State Fire Commission Firefighter Level II practical and written state exams. This testing process can take up to two years to complete after joining the department.

Below is a picture of the firefighters that attended and completed the 15 hour Intro to pumps course from the Tennessee Fire Academy in November of this year. This course covers basic aspects of operation of fire department pumpers from calculating friction loss, to calculating fire ground flow rates and pressures.
